Senior ASIC Physical Design Engineer

An industry-leading technology company is seeking a seasoned Senior ASIC Physical Design Engineer to lead front-end physical design and workflow development for its cutting-edge generative AI inference acceleration products. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve scalable, high-performance systems and tools in a dynamic, agile environment. You will work closely with a team of ASIC designers and verification engineers, optimizing workflows and driving exploration of new technologies to enhance the full ASIC design process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of front-end physical design workflows for AI inference acceleration products.
  • Guide and assist teams in improving block-level and full-chip design aspects in collaboration with backend teams.
  • Drive optimization, implementation, and exploration of physical design workflows, including synthesis, formal checks, power analysis, and STA.
  • Leverage both industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence/Synopsys) and internally developed methodologies to enhance productivity.
  • Innovate scalable, high-performance tools and systems to enable next-generation product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand workflows, resolve EDA challenges, and drive efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on ASIC engineering experience with expertise in VLSI/SoC physical design workflows.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence or Synopsys for synthesis, power analysis, STA, and related flows.
  • Strong understanding of STA analysis, including writing SDCs and managing clock methodologies.
  • Experience supporting backend teams with knowledge of clock trees, routing, DRC, LVS, and metal fill processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global engineering environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

This hands-on role is ideal for experienced physical design experts with a passion for generative AI and a drive to solve complex engineering challenges.
