Job Overview:
The Senior Automation and Controls Project Engineer / Manager will oversee the design, execution, and commissioning of capital projects on-site, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and managing project timelines and budgets to drive continuous improvements in manufacturing and automation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute site capital projects from design through commissioning.
• Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure milestones are met.
• Provide regular updates on project progress to the Project Manager and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
• Collaborate with vendors to identify new technologies and solutions.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to safety, environmental, and GMP standards.
• Support validation activities and oversee training for new technology or processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise during project execution.
• Maintain project documentation, including technical specifications and handover packs.

Candidate Profile:

• Education: BA/BS in Engineering or related discipline (BSEE preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 6 years in automation, with strong knowledge of IT systems, process automation, MES, and related technologies in regulated environments (healthcare/life sciences).
• Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PLC/HMI systems, and process automation.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data integrity standards (e.g., GAMP, 21 CFR 11).
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple workstreams.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel internationally and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to manage stakeholder communications and team coordination.

Desired Experience:

• Familiarity with vision systems, robotics, and motion control.
• Experience in capital project execution and machinery/system design.
