Senior engineer with radio frequency and antenna expertise
ETR is supporting a leading engineering consultancy:
Senior RF & Antenna Engineer – Defence Radar Systems | Sweden
Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior RF & Antenna Engineer to join an advanced mm-wave radar development team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with 6+ years of expertise in radio frequency (RF) and antenna design, working on cutting-edge defence and sensor technology. The position is on-site in Sweden as part of an in-house development team, requiring Swedish citizenship due to defence industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
? RF & Antenna Design & Development:
- Conduct concept investigations and feasibility studies for next-generation mm-wave radar systems
- Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of RF and antenna systems for high-performance radar applications
- Collaborate with microwave, digital hardware, and power electronics engineers to develop integrated radar solutions
? System Integration & Verification:
- Participate in requirements breakdown and system specification for RF and antenna designs
- Perform testing, validation, and performance verification in the laboratory
- Support troubleshooting, debugging, and integration with radar hardware and embedded systems
? Project Leadership & Technical Guidance:
- Provide technical expertise in RF design methodologies, circuit layouts, and antenna architectures
- Work in a cross-functional team with PCB designers, mechanical engineers, and system architects
- Contribute to continuous skills development in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
Requirements
? Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in RF and antenna design for radar, telecommunications, or defence applications
- Strong background in mm-wave technology, RF circuit design, and antenna simulation tools
? Technical Expertise:
- Experience with RF components, filters, amplifiers, and PCB layout for high-frequency designs
- Hands-on proficiency in simulation and modelling tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS)
- Knowledge of Texas Instruments, NXP, Infineon, FPGA, and DDR memory interfaces is a plus
? Soft Skills & Attributes:
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong drive to deliver results
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for complex system development
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Fluent in Swedish (English is a plus)
Additional Information:
- Location: On-site in Sweden (must be a Swedish citizen due to defence industry regulations)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 6 months (with extensions)
