Senior or Principal Power Electronics R&D Engineer

You will be joining a world-leading technology company in Nuremberg, to be a part of a growing lab!

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and refine needs, shaping system requirements within the Digital Power Business sector.
• Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps for next-generation products in the Digital Power range, including PV Solar and Battery Energy Storage solutions.
• Drive the creation of innovative Power Conversion architectures and converter topologies.
• Lead the design of parameters, component layouts, prototype development, and subsequent verification and validation of converter concepts within the R&D laboratories.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in power electronics, electrical and electronic engineering, or power engineering, complemented by relevant professional experience post-graduation.
• 8+ years’ experience
• Strong theoretical foundation in fundamental power electronic converter principles, magnetic component design, power semiconductor devices, and power converter control.
• Demonstrated success in product development and market release.
• Hands-on experience in building and verifying power converter prototypes.
• Expertise in the analysis, design, simulation, and verification of critical design parameters in power converter technologies, including power loss analysis, semiconductor selection, magnetic component design, PCB design, and modulation techniques.
• Highly self-reliant with a proactive, goal-oriented work style, a “can-do” attitude, a willingness to learn new concepts, and the ability to think creatively.
• Willingness to undertake occasional travel related to project work.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; a willingness to learn German, with additional languages considered a plus.
