Site Reliability Engineer – Linux
Site Reliability Engineer – Unix Platform Services
We’re seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Unix Platform Services team within the Server Management Group. You’ll support and enhance Linux compute systems that underpin a wide range of technologies across mobile, automotive, IoT, and compute sectors.
Role Overview:
You’ll contribute to the full lifecycle of Linux system management — from development and automation to troubleshooting and release orchestration — using tools like Airflow, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines. The role involves collaborating with global teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain internal tools and scripts (primarily in Python and Shell)
-
Drive automation and scaling of infrastructure
-
Manage software release processes and CI/CD workflows
-
Troubleshoot system and performance issues
-
Collaborate across teams to implement secure and efficient solutions
-
Contribute to documentation and sprint planning using JIRA and Confluence
Required Experience:
-
3+ years Python and Shell scripting
-
3+ years Linux systems administration (SUSE, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc.)
-
2+ years configuration management (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
-
1+ year software release management
-
1+ year experience with Jenkins and/or Airflow
-
1+ year CI/CD pipeline implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Advanced knowledge in Python and Shell
-
Strong understanding of networking concepts
-
Familiarity with observability platforms (Splunk, DataDog, etc.)
-
Background in DevOps or system administration
-
Experience monitoring system health and performance
