Software Engineer

We are currently partnered with an industry leading provider of innovative payment technology solutions for commercial customers within the transport sector globally. They are looking to expand their team in Germany with a Software Engineer to work onsite in Hamburg. 

Responsibilities

• Analyze functional requirements to develop software that meets specifications.
• Design and create detailed technical specifications for new software developments.
• Implement software solutions, including configuration control, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Participate in the deployment process, ensuring smooth implementation.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including software designs and test specifications.
• Provide technical support and expertise in software development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, database, testing, and documentation teams.
• Report to project managers or team leads on performance, identifying any deviations from the plan and suggesting corrective actions.
• Maintain IT documentation and adhere to IT procedures.
• Stay updated on the latest developments and improvements in software engineering.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to quality, security, and occupational health and safety.

Qualifications Required

• University degree in a numerate subject such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in the IT industry.
• Strong knowledge of methodologies, programming languages, and technologies.
• Experience working on commercial Java (JEE) projects.
• Proficiency with tools such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Experience with UML design tools such as Enterprise Architect.
• Good proficiency in both German and English languages.
