System Architect – Industrial Automation – Drives Design & Development
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Munich.

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture development for drive systems, including Brushed DC, Brushless 2- and 3-phase DC motors, linear motors, and phased stepper motors.
- Design hardware components such as FPGAs, IGBTs, FETs, and ASICs, as well as power circuitry to support the drive system.
- Guide the development of power electronics, signal processing, processors, and switching power supplies.
- Oversee circuit design and create circuit diagrams, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Apply expertise in high-frequency switching power electronics, filter design, and signal processing for sensors (e.g., encoders, current, acceleration) and associated test electronics.
- Develop hardware and signal processing systems for feedback technologies, including AquadB, SinCos, HallSensors, BiSS-C, and EnDat.
- Propose innovative designs and solutions in collaboration with the team.
- Partner with leading research institutes and technology companies to explore and develop new drive concepts.
- Research emerging technologies and create comprehensive technology roadmaps.
- Utilise knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CanOpen, and Profibus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) or a related discipline, with extensive industry experience.
- Proven experience in developing motor drive systems for precision automation and motion control.
- Demonstrated success in designing and completing drive systems.
- Embedded programming experience with FPGA, microcontrollers, and ASICs (desirable).
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages (C/C++).
- In-depth knowledge of drive tuning and the implementation of motion profiles.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
