Thermal Interface Material Research Engineer
Thermal Interface Material Research Engineer
The MPE and Module Engineering Lab is part of a highly creative, multidisciplinary, and international think tank dedicated to exploring innovative key technologies and turning them into working solutions.
We are currently looking for a Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) Research Engineer to explore future TIM solutions for upcoming ICT concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and theoretical guidance for research on new TIM materials and processes based on product demands and industry trends. Drive technical breakthroughs, particularly in areas such as overall conductivity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support verification and test data analysis of key materials and processes, including internal prototypes and samples obtained through collaborations with external partners.
- Contribute to building an academic and industrial ecosystem/network, offering scientific support and advice for collaboration projects, including national and EU framework initiatives.
- Assist in establishing a state-of-the-art TIM testing laboratory.
This work will be conducted in collaboration with the materials/thermal teams and global research centers.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- PhD in one of the following fields:
- Advanced materials, nanomaterials, or materials chemistry, focusing on modifying/improving material functionality and/or surfaces.
- Heat and mass transfer with a TIM-related research focus.
- Minimum 1-2 years of postdoctoral research and development experience in the field, preferably within the industry.
- Strong understanding of TIM, including R&D, manufacturing processes, functional interactions with surrounding units/surfaces, and overall solution reliability.
- Deep knowledge of advanced material resources and trends, especially in innovative surface treatments and material functionality enhancements.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
Additional Skills:
- Expertise in advanced material science and processing.
- Strong knowledge of European universities and technology research organizations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prior experience in international and multicultural environments is preferred.
