Principal Photonics Process Integration Expert
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their manufacturing technology centre in Weilheim (greater Munich).
Responsibilities
- Take charge of process development & initiate the scaling up of new photonics technologies.
- Develop & validate new or adapted silicon-based processes within photonics technologies, with a particular focus on integrating heterogeneous epitaxy processes.
- Establish process specifications by identifying & monitoring critical process parameters, correlating device characteristics to process traits for optical components.
- Lead projects & cross-functional teams to streamline process integration, evaluate & establish best-known methods (BKM), & determine process specifications to align with required device specifications.
- Explore & introduce new “more-than-Moore” processes, process modules, & technology roadmaps to support new device manufacturing platforms. Evaluate photonics manufacturing equipment, materials, experiments, & methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal & external research institutions to introduce & optimize new photonics processes.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor device physics & process integration, with deep expertise in Photonics devices.
- 10+ years of experience in silicon with epitaxy processing, preferably within a Wafer Fab environment for optical & photonics applications.
- Proficiency in in-line Process Integration, utilizing methods & tools for evaluation & data processing such as wafer parametric testing, process monitoring structures, & in-line readings to correlate process & device characteristics. This improves process stability, yield, reliability, & production cost.
- Effective team player with leadership qualities, able to thrive in a multicultural environment with a proactive attitude & willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills in English; proficiency in German and/or Chinese is advantageous.
- Willingness & flexibility to travel internationally for collaborative ventures abroad.
