Safety Expert for AI-based System
You will be joining an innovative automotive engineering lab within a world-leading technology company at their lab Munich.

Responsibilities
- Have an innovative approach to explore new strategies for achieving safety goals, pushing the boundaries of AI-based safety.
- Conduct safety analysis of AI-based systems, adhering to ISO 8800, ISO 21448, and other relevant safety standards.
- Evaluate safety concepts, including mechanisms to safeguard AI-based systems.
- Collaborate with system engineering and development teams to design and evaluate AD/ADAS system safety architectures, focusing on fail-operational, fail-degraded, and fail-safe components.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, trends, and best practices, and share key insights within the organization to improve our ADS solutions.
Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in automotive system/software safety engineering.
- Excellent understanding of AI-based systems, neural network architectures, hardware and software platforms for AI, and their failure modes.
- Practical experience in analyzing AI-based systems’ nominal performance, determining performance metrics, and implementing performance improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive safety engineering, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, functional and technical safety concepts, and methods such as HAZOP/HARA/FMEA/FTA/STPA, particularly for SOTIF and emerging AI regulations.
- Hands-on approach with a positive attitude to inspire and motivate team members.
- Professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of German and/or Chinese is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel abroad up to 25% of the time.
