Senior Crash Safety CAE Specialist
Focus: ANSA, HBM, Airbag Folding, Seat Belt & Restraint Systems
Location: Remote, Europe-based
Travel: Regular travel to Paris, plus travel to Shenzhen twice per year

About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Crash Safety CAE Specialist to support advanced vehicle safety simulation activities, with a strong focus on ANSA preprocessing, Human Body Model articulation, airbag folding, seat belt modelling, and complete restraint system setup.
This is a remote role based in Europe, but the successful candidate should be comfortable travelling regularly to Paris for technical collaboration, workshops, and project alignment. There will also be business travel to Shenzhen approximately twice per year.
The role is suitable for someone who has hands-on crash safety CAE experience and can support complex occupant safety workflows, not only from a simulation perspective but also from a preprocessing, model setup, and methodology development angle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support crash safety CAE models for occupant protection and restraint system simulation.
- Work extensively with ANSA for preprocessing, model setup, quality checks, and workflow improvement.
- Support HBM articulation, positioning, and setup for different crash safety scenarios.
- Work on airbag folding, airbag modelling, deployment setup, and related preprocessing activities.
- Develop and validate seat belt models, including belt routing, contact definition, pretensioner/retractor/load limiter setup, and restraint system integration.
- Support full crash safety simulation workflows, including frontal, side, rear, and other relevant crash scenarios.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in Europe and China to improve CAE methodology, model robustness, and simulation efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance on best practices for occupant safety, restraint systems, and ANSA-based preprocessing.
- Support internal training, documentation, and workflow standardisation where required.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in crash safety CAE, ideally within automotive OEM, Tier 1, engineering consultancy, or CAE software environment.
- Advanced experience with ANSA is essential.
- Solid knowledge of occupant safety, restraint systems, seat belts, airbags, and HBM / dummy positioning.
- Experience with crash solvers such as LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, Abaqus/Explicit, or similar.
- Practical experience with full vehicle crash, occupant simulation, or restraint system development.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup while collaborating closely with international teams.
- Comfortable with regular travel to Paris and occasional travel to Shenzhen.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working directly for, or closely with, BETA CAE / ANSA.
- Experience developing ANSA scripts, automation tools, or customised preprocessing workflows.
- Experience with Euro NCAP, China NCAP, FMVSS, ECE, or other crash safety standards.
- Knowledge of THUMS, GHBMC, SAFER HBM, or other human body models.
- Experience supporting training, technical workshops, or methodology development for CAE teams.
