Position Overview

A global technology research organization focused on advanced computing systems, AI infrastructure, and next-generation semiconductor technologies is seeking a Collaboration Strategic Technology Lead.

This role serves as the bridge between industrial research programs and leading academic institutions, ensuring that emerging innovations in computer architecture, AI systems, and advanced semiconductor technologies are transformed into commercially valuable products and technology roadmaps.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, ecosystem development, and project leadership capabilities to drive high-impact collaborations across industry and academia.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Research Collaboration Management

• Lead the complete lifecycle of external research collaboration programs:
  • Opportunity identification
  • Technical evaluation
  • Project definition
  • Milestone reviews
  • Final technology transfer and acceptance
• Align research objectives with internal technology roadmaps and business priorities.
• Coordinate stakeholders across research, engineering, and product organizations.

Technology Strategy & Foresight

• Monitor emerging trends in:
  • Computer architecture
  • AI accelerators
  • Heterogeneous computing
  • Advanced semiconductor technologies
  • Hardware-software co-design
• Conduct technology scouting, literature analysis, and competitive assessments.
• Produce strategic technical reports supporting executive and research leadership decision-making.
• Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of emerging technologies for future product generations.

Academic & Industry Engagement

• Develop and maintain relationships with leading universities, research institutes, and technology partners.
• Identify collaboration opportunities aligned with long-term technology priorities.
• Act as a senior technical representative during engagements with external stakeholders.
• Organize and support:

  • Technical seminars
  • Joint innovation programs
  • Academic exchange activities

Technology Transfer & Innovation Acceleration

• Drive the translation of research outcomes into practical engineering solutions.
• Facilitate adoption of externally developed technologies within internal R&D organizations.
• Support proof-of-concept development and early-stage validation activities.
• Help transform research breakthroughs into:
  • Product innovations
  • Patent portfolios
  • Strategic technology assets

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, and AI teams.
• Balance long-term research objectives with near-term engineering priorities.
• Coordinate activities between local research organizations and global technology teams.
• Ensure research programs deliver measurable business and technical value.

Required Qualifications

Education

• PhD in:
  • Computer Architecture
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Semiconductor Design
  • AI Hardware Systems
  • Related technical field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in:
  • Industrial research
  • Academic research
  • Technology strategy
  • Research collaboration management
• Demonstrated involvement in complex research partnerships or large-scale innovation programs.
