This senior-level position requires a seasoned expert who can merge deep knowledge of traditional vehicle mechanics with modern digital actuation and sensing technologies. You will lead a specialized group dedicated to exploring the future of how vehicles move and interact with their environment.
Responsibilities
- Innovation Leadership: Direct research initiatives centered on sophisticated control frameworks—including AI-driven and domain-integrated systems—while overseeing the development of next-generation digital actuators (by-wire technology) and advanced perception sensors to improve the performance of electric and self-driving platforms.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Analyze the automotive landscape to identify emerging hardware and software shifts, producing high-level industry reports and defining the organization’s technical trajectory for the coming years.
- Ecosystem Development: Forge strong ties with European research institutions and industry leaders to tap into the regional expertise in automotive engineering and chassis design.
- Corporate Strategy: Partner with executive leadership to elevate the role of intelligent motion control within the global business strategy, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of the product identity.
- Personnel & Project Management: Provide daily direction to the engineering team, focusing on individual career growth, team cohesion, and the successful execution of complex technical projects.
Qualifications
- Academic Foundation: An advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Automotive Engineering, Control Theory, or a related field with a heavy emphasis on vehicle dynamics.
- Professional Depth: At least 15 years of dedicated experience in the design and deployment of automotive control systems.
- Proven Track Record: A history of successful leadership in engineering environments, specifically with a background in bringing vehicle programs from concept to mass production.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to manage high-stakes projects under tight timelines and communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
- Global Collaboration: Fluency in English is required for navigating our international work environment.
- Mobility: Must be available for international travel, including trips to China (estimated at 20% of the time).
