Midleton Distillery – VACANCY
Automation Engineer – Full Time Contract
We are currently recruiting for the position of Process Automation Engineer at Midleton Distillery, reporting to the Senior Automation Engineer onsite. The purpose of this role is to support the automated systems at Midleton Distillery. It is also to aid in the continuous improvement, reliability, and development of the automated systems at Midleton Distillery.
This support will be on the existing Distillery systems, and to help deliver the planned New Distillery.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities associated with this role include:
- Configure, optimise, and maintain existing and future automation systems to ensure production targets are achieved at Midleton Distillery.
- Troubleshoot problems with all existing and future control systems at Midleton Distillery.
- Development of new projects software that meet the needs of Midleton Distillery.
- Work independently, and with lead engineer onsite as well as third party systems integrators, to configure upgraded/new automation systems at Midleton Distillery.
- Ensure that all new automation systems are tested and are in line with site standards prior to implementation.
- Help perform system administration duties including implementing access and security privileges, performing software upgrades and backing-up process data at Midleton Distillery.
- Responsible for the execution of change control for system modifications and new projects. Ensure all work executed and overseen complies with the relevant QSE and policy procedures.
- Maintain Functional Specifications to assure they reflect the operational parameters of the automation systems at Midleton Distillery.
- Aid in the support of network infrastructures at Midleton Distillery and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Ensure all work carried out or supervised on the systems at Midleton Distillery are in line with the local, group and industrial standard Cybersecurity policies.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of scheduled rota at Midleton Distillery once embedded.
Qualifications and essential experience
The candidate should have the following:
- Appropriate Engineering Qualification (preferably B.Sc. / B.E. degree in engineering, with emphasis in electrical/electronic, Automation/Mechatronics, Computer science or chemical discipline)
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Allen Bradley PLC’s
- Device Networks (Profibus, Devicenet, Controlnet, Modbus, Ethernet)
- Aveva System Platform
- Aveva Intouch SCADA (Traditional and OMI)
- Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA suite (SE, Transaction Manager, Historian)
- Wonderware Historian
- SQL / VB / .NET Reporting Applications
- Understanding of GAMP
- Good working knowledge of the ISA88 standards
- Expert PC skills with excellent working knowledge of Windows Operation Systems including Microsoft Active Directory
Desired Experience
IT would be beneficial if the candidate has the following:
- External facing firewall configuration
- Robotics and/or Cobots (Kuka type preferably)
- AI system configuration
- VMware vSphere installation and maintenance
- CISCO networking experience
- Rockwell Thin Manager experience (Previously ACP)
- MES systems experience
