Technical Cooperation Manager for University Collaborations

You will be joining an established lab within a world-leading technology company at their lab Munich.
 

We are seeking a high-caliber professional to lead the integration between corporate research objectives and the higher education ecosystem in Germany. Serving as the primary conduit between our organization and premier academic institutions, you will orchestrate long-term, mutually beneficial research relationships. The ideal candidate will leverage deep insights into the scientific landscape to establish creative co-development frameworks while safeguarding institutional compliance and organizational reputation.

Responsibilities

• Alliance Strategy & Execution: Architect and implement comprehensive roadmaps for institutional partnerships, aligning shared visions between corporate R&D directions and university research capabilities.
• Scientific Trend Scouting: Monitor and evaluate evolving breakthroughs within local science and tech sectors to influence upcoming academic focus areas and uncover novel exploration opportunities.
• Centralized Liaison: Represent the organization as the unified, single point of contact across various university campuses to maintain a consistent corporate identity and streamline institutional outreach.
• Innovative Engagement Models: Pioneer unconventional structures for knowledge exchange, collaborative labs, and talent-pipeline sponsorships that break past standard joint-venture frameworks.
• Risk & Compliance Management: Oversee all partnership workflows to ensure strict adherence to statutory mandates, legal procedures, and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• PhD
• Deep, comprehensive grasp of how the German higher education research infrastructure functions in tandem with industrial research and development pipelines
• Strong background in orchestrating industry-academia collaborations, with a clear understanding of the critical milestones required to take a project from concept to contractual agreement
• Solid working knowledge of intellectual property (IP) rights, patent protection protocols, and international export control frameworks within a research environment
• Proven ability to direct, inspire, and manage internal teams effectively to hit collaborative targets
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence, with demonstrated capability in managing high-stakes corporate networking and mitigating public relations issues or sensitive communication crises
• C1 level German language and fluency in English
