Senior HR Leader, Malaysia
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior HR Leader to support CDHORIZON’s business growth in Malaysia. The role will be responsible for building and managing the local HR function, supporting business expansion, ensuring local HR compliance, and acting as a strategic HR partner to the local management team.
The client has a preference for Mainland Chinese candidates with Malaysia or Southeast Asia HR management experience. However, exceptionally strong local candidates, especially Mandarin-speaking Malaysian Chinese HR leaders with relevant experience, may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR operations and HR management for the Malaysia business.
- Partner with local and regional management teams to support business growth and organisational development.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and HR compliance.
- Support workforce planning and talent development for local business teams.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with Malaysian employment law and local regulations.
- Build effective communication between local teams and China headquarters.
- Support the localisation of company culture, HR processes and management practices.
- Handle employee relations issues and provide practical HR advice to business leaders.
- Support organisational structure design, talent review and leadership development.
Requirements
- Strong HR management experience, ideally as HR Manager, Senior HRBP, HR Lead or Head of HR.
- Experience in Malaysia or Southeast Asia HR management is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian employment law, HR compliance, payroll, compensation and employee relations.
- Experience working in Chinese companies, China-headquartered businesses or international companies with China-related operations is preferred.
- Mandarin communication ability is highly preferred.
- Mainland Chinese candidates with overseas HR experience are preferred; strong Mandarin-speaking local Malaysian candidates can also be considered.
- Experience in construction, industrial services, equipment rental, engineering, manufacturing, logistics or infrastructure-related sectors would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on and business-driven environment.
