Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity within the pharmaceutical industry?
We’re recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Little Island, Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of capital engineering projects, working within a highly regulated GMP environment and supporting the delivery of critical manufacturing improvements.
The Role
Working as part of a busy engineering team, you’ll lead engineering projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
You’ll work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, MSAT and Facilities teams while managing contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capital engineering projects from initial scope through to completion.
- Develop project scopes and support capital approval.
- Manage project budgets, schedules and resource planning.
- Coordinate commissioning, qualification and handover activities.
- Lead cross-functional project teams.
- Manage project documentation, engineering drawings and P&IDs.
- Coordinate suppliers, contractors and third-party vendors.
- Support investigations, deviations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and resolve process and equipment-related issues.
- Ensure all projects comply with GMP, GDP and EHS requirements.
We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering engineering projects within an API or Pharmaceutical GMP environment.
- Proven experience managing engineering or capital projects.
- Strong understanding of commissioning and qualification activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable Experience
- Project Management qualification.
- Lean Six Sigma or structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience within multinational pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of cGMP, GDP and EHS requirements.
