Embedded Software Engineer (Wifi)
Embedded Software Engineer – Wireless Connectivity (Wi-Fi)
Position Overview
A global provider of smart-edge and embedded connectivity solutions is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join its wireless software development team.
This role focuses on the design and implementation of low-level software for next-generation wireless communication platforms, with particular emphasis on Wi-Fi and IEEE 802.11 MAC-layer functionality. The position involves firmware development, system-level architecture, and toolchain support for embedded platforms.

Key Responsibilities
-
Analyze wireless communication standards and translate protocol specifications into reliable software implementations.

Design and develop connectivity features, platform drivers, and development tools using C/C++.

Develop and optimize firmware for wireless communication modules and subsystems.

Integrate software components into embedded platforms and validate functionality on hardware targets.
-
Debug and resolve issues across multiple software layers in simulation, FPGA, and SoC environments.
-
Produce clear technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, and integration guidelines.
-
Support internal engineering teams and customers by investigating issues and delivering timely fixes.
-
Continuously improve development tools, workflows, and processes through adoption of modern technologies.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
-
At least five years of professional experience in embedded software development.
-
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
-
Experience working with Linux and embedded operating systems.

Solid background in wireless networking, particularly:
-
IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) standards
-
MAC and PHY layers
-
System-level software architecture
-
-
Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements definition to testing and validation.

Hands-on experience with debugging in simulation, FPGA, and SoC environments.
-
Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
-
Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with bare-metal programming and associated validation methods.
-
Background in integrating multiple wireless protocols (e.g., WLAN, Bluetooth, UWB, cellular).
-
Experience developing radio or baseband drivers for ASIC platforms.
-
Working knowledge of Python for tooling or automation.
