Software Developer – Python Test Framework for Measurement and Communication Systems (m/f/d)

A technology-oriented organization is seeking an experienced Software Developer to design and implement a flexible, multi-user Python-based test framework for complex analog and digital measurement systems.

The role focuses on modernizing and extending existing test infrastructures, enabling scalable, automated, and collaborative testing workflows for communication and signal-processing platforms.

Employment Details

• Position: Software Developer – Python Test Framework

• Contract Type: Fixed-term (up to 24 months)

• Start Date: Early 2026

• Working Time: Full-time (40 hours per week)

• Remote Work: Partial remote work possible (up to 60%)

• Language Requirements: Advanced German, basic to intermediate English

• Experience Level: Not suitable for entry-level candidates

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate an existing C#-based measurement and test system for radio-frequency and communication paths.

• Design and develop a flexible Python-based testing framework for system control, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Ensure parallel operation with legacy systems to maintain data consistency and traceability.

• Migrate existing automated and manual test cases to the new Python framework.

• Execute validation and acceptance tests for both automated and manual workflows.

• Ensure compatibility and data consistency between C#- and Python-based systems.

• Design extensible framework architectures that support short-term scripting and rapid workflow customization.

• Develop multi-user concepts, including access control, script validation, and approval mechanisms.

• Establish organization-wide testing standards in cooperation with test engineers and software quality teams.

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation covering APIs, interfaces, scripting capabilities, and repositories.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.

• Strong proficiency in Python (version 3.x or higher).

• Experience with hardware control and test automation using standard interfaces (e.g., serial, USB).

• Basic working knowledge of C#.

• Experience with system integration, APIs, and data exchange formats.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Understanding of modular software architectures and GUI development (e.g., PyQt or similar frameworks).

• Experience creating high-quality technical documentation, including API references and user guides.

• Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
