Embedded Software Engineer
Embedded Systems & Applications Engineer – Autonomous Systems (Contract)
Position Overview
A technology-driven engineering organization is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems & Applications Engineer to support the development of intelligent robotics and AI-based solutions for automotive and autonomous systems.
This mid-level contract role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing embedded software and sensor-based systems that enable advanced driver assistance and autonomous functionalities.
The position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams working on real-world autonomous platforms.

Key Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for robotics and autonomous driving applications, including advanced driver assistance features.
-
Implement, test, and debug software in C++ and Python for embedded and real-time environments.
-
Develop modular and scalable robotics software stacks using ROS/ROS2.
-
Integrate and interface with multiple sensor types, including radar, LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs.
-
Ensure accurate sensor calibration, synchronization, and multi-sensor data fusion.
-
Develop and maintain real-time communication systems between electronic control units and computing platforms.
-
Collaborate with hardware and system engineers to ensure stable and high-performance system integration.
-
Perform in-depth debugging, profiling, and root-cause analysis of embedded platforms.
-
Support system-level testing, validation, and technical documentation.
-
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
-
At least three years of professional experience in embedded software, robotics, or automotive systems development.

Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, including experience with real-time and multithreaded systems.

Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotics middleware frameworks.
-
Practical knowledge of networking protocols and diagnostic tools for embedded systems.
-
Understanding of sensor technologies, including radar, LiDAR, cameras, and inertial measurement units.
-
Experience with sensor calibration, synchronization, and data fusion methods.
-
Strong debugging, performance profiling, and optimization skills.
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills

Experience with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving features.

Background in computer vision and AI-based perception systems.

Familiarity with automotive-grade software development standards and workflows.
