Senior Engineer – Sensors
General Summary:
Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality, and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, XR / AR, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration and test engineers in the Sensors team.
*Please note this role will require 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office*
Job responsibilities include:
- Embedded software development in C and C++, ideally in new modern C++ standards, for fixed and floating-point based designs.
- Unit testing and system testing using modern frameworks like Google Test.
- Architecting software frameworks and modules on a variety of cores like CPU, embedded MCU, and GPU.
- Implementing system algorithms, performance testing, debugging, verifying, and optimizing the implementations. Creating reports on algorithm evaluation results and delivering complete design and user documentation.
- Balancing engineering trade-offs between performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexity.
- Programming in one interpreted language (e.g. Python).
- Using your familiarity with SOC architecture, assist in the design of SOC HW models and related tools.
- New technology demonstrations, interfacing with customers and sensor vendors, and partnering with internal and external teams.
The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
