About the Opportunity
Our client is an international industrial technology and automation company expanding its strategic presence across the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia identified as a key priority market.
The company provides advanced industrial automation, control systems, digitalisation and industrial AI solutions for process industries, including oil & gas, petrochemical, chemicals, power, energy and large-scale industrial facilities.
As part of its long-term growth strategy, the company is looking to engage a senior Saudi Arabia-based or GCC-connected Strategic Consultant / Advisor with strong government, energy and enterprise relationships.
This is not a traditional full-time employment role. It is a flexible strategic advisory engagement focused on market access, senior stakeholder relationships and supporting high-level business development opportunities.
Role Purpose
The consultant will help the company understand and access the Saudi energy and industrial ecosystem, with a particular focus on:
• Central government energy stakeholders
• Saudi Aramco relationships
• SABIC / petrochemical ecosystem
• Oil & gas and refinery projects
• EPC and major industrial project networks
• Energy transition and industrial digitalisation opportunities
• Strategic market positioning in Saudi Arabia
The ideal candidate will be someone who can open senior-level conversations, advise on market entry strategy and help identify realistic project pathways within Saudi Arabia’s energy and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic advice on Saudi Arabia’s energy, oil & gas and petrochemical market landscape
• Support stakeholder mapping across government, Aramco, SABIC, EPCs and major industrial groups
• Advise on how the company should position itself as an international industrial technology provider in Saudi Arabia
• Help identify suitable business opportunities in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, energy transition and industrial automation
• Support senior-level introductions where appropriate
• Advise on government relations, procurement routes and market-entry sensitivities
• Help the leadership team understand key decision-makers, project cycles and partnership opportunities
• Support preparation for meetings with senior government or enterprise stakeholders
• Provide insight into local business culture, relationship-building and commercial expectations
• Potentially support milestone-based project development where clear opportunities are identified
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will likely be one of the following:
• Former senior executive from Saudi Aramco, SABIC or a major Saudi energy / petrochemical group
• Former senior official or advisor connected to the Saudi energy ministry or relevant government bodies
• Senior consultant or advisor with proven access to Saudi energy decision-makers
• Former senior leader from a major EPC, refinery, petrochemical or industrial project organisation
• Board-level or C-level figure with a strong network across Saudi oil & gas and industrial sectors
Required Experience
• Strong senior-level network within Saudi Arabia’s energy and industrial ecosystem
• Proven relationships with at least one of the following: Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Ministry of Energy, major EPCs, refinery / petrochemical operators, or government-related industrial stakeholders
• Deep understanding of oil & gas, petrochemical, refining or major industrial project environments
• Experience working with senior government, enterprise or board-level stakeholders
• Ability to advise an international company on market entry, positioning and stakeholder strategy
• Strong understanding of how large industrial projects are initiated, influenced, approved and executed in Saudi Arabia
• High credibility with senior decision-makers
• Ability to operate discreetly and confidentially
Highly Preferred
• Former Saudi Aramco, SABIC or Ministry of Energy background
• Direct access to senior decision-makers in Aramco, SABIC, EPC or government-related energy bodies
• Experience with industrial automation, control systems, digital transformation, EPC projects or process industry technologies
• Experience supporting international companies entering or expanding in Saudi Arabia
• Existing advisory / board / consultant experience
• Understanding of Vision 2030, industrial localisation, energy transition and downstream development priorities
Engagement Model
The cooperation model is expected to be flexible and senior-level.
Possible structures may include:

• Monthly / quarterly advisory model
• Milestone-based incentive
• Project-based success fee
• Senior meeting support
• Advisory board-style cooperation
