We’re partnering with a fast-growing European technology company operating at the intersection of software and AI. With multiple established products and ambitious new initiatives underway, the business is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a Head of Engineering to take ownership of engineering execution while transforming how software is built through AI-driven workflows and modern engineering practices.

This is a rare opportunity for a Head of Engineering to shape both the technical organisation and engineering culture. Working closely with the CTO and founders, the Head of Engineering will lead multiple engineering teams, introduce AI-powered development workflows, improve developer productivity and establish scalable processes that enable rapid delivery without compromising technical quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day engineering organisation across multiple product teams.
• Design and implement AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve developer productivity and code quality.
• Build scalable engineering processes that increase delivery speed while maintaining technical excellence.
• Partner with the CTO on engineering strategy, organisational design and technical direction.
• Remove delivery bottlenecks and improve execution across teams.
• Drive engineering hiring, mentoring and performance.
• Foster a high-ownership, fast-paced engineering culture focused on continuous improvement and AI adoption.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Head of Engineering, VP Engineering or similar senior engineering leadership position.
• Demonstrable success implementing AI-driven development workflows that have measurably improved engineering productivity.
• Experience leading engineering teams within fast-paced start-up or scale-up environments.
• Strong technical and architectural credibility with a hands-on leadership style.
• Experience scaling engineering organisations and introducing lightweight, effective delivery processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work closely with founders and executive leadership.
• Experience across SaaS, AI, media technology, or other modern product organisations is highly desirable.
