Hardware Security Research Engineer
Position Overview
A research-driven technology organization is seeking a Hardware Security Research Engineer to advance innovation in hardware-level security.
This role bridges forward-looking security research with practical implementation. The successful candidate will analyze emerging hardware security technologies, provide strategic insights, and develop proof-of-concept prototypes to validate new protection mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Trend Analysis

Investigate and analyze emerging trends in hardware security and relevant industry standards.

Identify new technologies and assess their potential impact on future secure system design.

Provide strategic insights to guide long-term security architecture and product roadmaps.
Advanced Security Architecture Research
-
Conduct in-depth analysis of hardware security mechanisms and architectures.
-
Evaluate approaches related to:
-
Hardware root of trust
-
Cryptographic implementations
-
Supply chain security and device integrity
-
Side-channel and fault injection resistance
-

Propose innovative security solutions and countermeasures.
Prototype Development
-
Design and implement proof-of-concept systems to validate research findings.

Develop demonstrators showcasing novel hardware security techniques.

Translate theoretical concepts into practical, testable implementations.
Required Qualifications
-
Proven experience in hardware security, including design, development, or evaluation of secure systems.

Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

Cryptographic engineering and validation
-
Hardware root of trust architectures
-
Side-channel analysis and countermeasures
-
Fault injection techniques
-
Supply chain and device security
-

Proficiency in a Linux development environment.

Expertise in at least one of the following domains:

Software development (C/C++, Rust, or Python)

Hardware design (Verilog, VHDL, or PCB development)
-
Algorithm implementation (e.g., cryptography or AI-related methods)

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.

Strong external communication skills, particularly in technical and standards-driven contexts.

Familiarity with hardware security standards and certification frameworks.

Experience engaging with standardization bodies or industry working groups.

Exposure to international or cross-organizational collaboration environments.
