RF Power Amplifier and RFIC Design Expert
RF Power Amplifier & RFIC Design Expert
Position Overview
A semiconductor research organization is seeking an experienced RF Power Amplifier and RFIC Design Expert to lead advanced research and development in high-efficiency, wideband RF front-end technologies for mobile and wireless communication systems.
This role combines deep technical expertise in RFIC design with system-level understanding of RF transmit chains. The successful candidate will contribute to next-generation RF architectures, focusing on performance, efficiency, and adaptability across multi-band and wideband applications.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to research in high-efficiency, wideband RF power amplifier architectures for mobile transmitters.

Design load-insensitive power amplifier solutions for multi-band and wideband applications.

Investigate advanced efficiency enhancement techniques, including:
-
Novel RF power converter architectures
-
Emerging semiconductor device technologies
-
-
Develop high-performance, reconfigurable RFIC designs for RF front-end modules.
-
Ensure that circuit designs meet system-level and product-level requirements.
-
Identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the design and development process.
-
Participate in the proposal, review, and evaluation of innovative technical concepts.

Collaborate closely with system architects and product development teams to align circuit-level designs with system requirements.
Required Qualifications
-
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
-
At least 8 years of professional experience in RFIC design and RF power amplifier development.
-
Strong expertise in RFIC/MMIC circuit design.

Proficiency with industry-standard RF design and simulation tools, such as:
-
Advanced Design System (ADS)
-
Microwave Office (MWO)
-
Cadence
-
SPICE-based tools
-
Technical Expertise
-
Design of RF power amplifiers for mobile and wireless applications.
-
Load-insensitive RF power amplifier architectures.
-
High-efficiency and wideband RF amplifier design.
-
Design and characterization of reconfigurable RFICs for front-end modules.
-
Strong understanding of RF system integration and performance trade-offs.
