Senior Power Electronics Engineer
Senior Power Electronics Engineer
Position Overview
A research-focused engineering organization is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to drive advanced research and development in power conversion technologies.
This role focuses on the design, simulation, and experimental validation of power electronic systems, with particular emphasis on converter architectures and digital control. The position combines hands-on laboratory work with system-level design and collaboration across internal teams and external research partners.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define system requirements and identify key technical capabilities for future products.

Lead research and development of novel power converter architectures and topologies for low- and medium-power applications.

Design and develop converters including:

DC-DC
-
AC-DC
-
DC-AC
-
-
Focus on applications such as telecom power systems, battery management systems, photovoltaic inverters, and electric vehicle charging systems.

Lead system-level design, testing, and validation activities in laboratory environments.

Develop and evaluate control strategies and algorithms for power conversion systems.
-
Conduct simulation and modelling using power electronics and magnetic simulation tools.

Collaborate with universities and research institutes on joint R&D initiatives.

Document research activities, experimental results, and technical findings.

Represent the organization at technical conferences, workshops, and industry events.

Support cross-site collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Required Qualifications
-
Master’s or PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Strong expertise in power electronics design and system-level architecture.

Deep knowledge of converter topologies, including:

Grid-connected and isolated systems
-
Resonant and non-resonant converters
-

Strong understanding of modulation techniques and digital control strategies.
-
Experience with wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor devices.
-
Proficiency in simulation tools for power electronics and magnetic design.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently with a structured and goal-oriented approach.
-
Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in telecom power systems, battery management systems, photovoltaic inverters, or EV charging solutions.

Background in collaborative research projects with academic or industrial partners.

Experience working in international or multicultural environments.

Ability to lead technical R&D initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
