Mechanical Engineer (CATIA)
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering (CAD)
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience using CATIA
- Solid understanding of core mechanical engineering principles
Technical Skills
- Experience with design maturity processes, versioning, and release management
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in production drawings
- Experience producing maintenance and installation drawings (industrial experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with technical documentation and configuration management
- Experience working in scientific or research facilities is an advantage
- Background in designing mechanical systems for specialised environments (e.g. accelerator or detector systems) is beneficial
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset:
vacuum systems, pressure systems, gas flow, magnetic fields, radiofrequency (low frequency), high-temperature systems, cryogenics, or electrical/electronic systems
Project Engineering
- Experience supervising mechanical design activities
- Exposure to acceptance testing is advantageous

Scope of Work
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Integrating components from partner facilities into the master CAD model
- Participating in system assembly, machine installation, and related operations (including on-site work in assembly halls/laboratories)
- Creating, maintaining, and updating 2D drawings in CATIA and managing them within CAD systems
- Converting between 2D and 3D designs based on requirements
- Producing and updating conceptual, detailed, and manufacturing drawings/models in CATIA V6
- Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation
- Coordinating installation activities on site and producing installation drawings
- Monitoring manufacturing processes and conducting quality and acceptance checks
- Reviewing engineering drawings and packages in line with mechanical standards (e.g. ISO, GPS tolerancing)
- Documenting and presenting engineering work
Additional Information
- The role is primarily on-site in Lund, with limited hybrid flexibility
- The consultant is expected to provide their own phone and computer
- Strong self-management and prioritisation skills are essential
