Senior Analog Design Engineer
Senior Analog IC Designer – Contract
Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands
Experience: 5+ years
Working Arrangement: Predominantly on-site / hybrid, with regular office attendance required
The Opportunity
A leading international semiconductor organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Analog IC Designer to join its R&D team in Nijmegen.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for demanding applications.
The role covers the complete IC development lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, circuit design, verification, silicon validation and product qualification.
The team develops robust mixed-signal semiconductor solutions using technologies including high-voltage BCD-SOI and CMOS, with demanding requirements relating to EMC, low-power operation, reliability and performance across wide temperature ranges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.
- Contribute to circuit architecture and requirements definition.
- Perform circuit simulation, verification and design optimisation.
- Support silicon validation and product qualification.
- Work closely with layout engineers to ensure effective physical implementation.
- Develop and apply behavioural models to accelerate architecture exploration and verification.
- Consider mismatch, yield, testability, device physics, ESD, EMC and reliability throughout the design process.
- Participate in technical discussions and design reviews.
- Produce clear technical and design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver designs against project deadlines.
Required Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years of relevant analog IC design experience.
- A strong track record in analog and/or mixed-signal IC design.
- Deep understanding of analog circuit design principles.
- Strong experience with industry-standard analog IC design and simulation tools, including Cadence and Spectre.
- Experience with statistical/yield analysis and related design tools; knowledge of Solido or equivalent is beneficial.
- Understanding of mismatch, yield, DFT/testability, device physics, ESD, EMC and semiconductor reliability.
- Sufficient IC layout knowledge to guide implementation and work effectively with layout engineers.
- Experience developing or using behavioural models for architecture exploration and verification.
- A strong commitment to engineering quality and a pragmatic, results-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and against demanding project schedules.
- Strong communication skills and confidence participating in technical reviews and documenting designs.
Desirable Experience
Experience within automotive or other high-reliability semiconductor applications would be advantageous.
Knowledge of automotive networking or wired communication technologies, such as CAN or LIN, would also be beneficial but is not essential.
Candidates with strong analog IC design experience from other semiconductor application areas are encouraged to apply.
