Test Coach & Quality Expert (temporary assignment)

The assignment
Coaching

• Work directly with strategic projects and delivery teams to understand challenges and provide practical coaching in real project situations.
• Advise teams on test strategy, risk-based testing, test planning, coverage optimization, UAT readiness, and release preparation.
• Coach teams in critical testing and release activities where expert intervention adds the highest value.
• Coach teams through active collaboration, helping them solve quality challenges while delivering their projects.
• Identify cross-project and enterprise-wide testing opportunities, dependencies, and risks.
• Capture lessons learned and translate these into reusable standards, templates, and best practices.
• Build sustainable capabilities by enabling teams to become increasingly self-sufficient.

Release Readiness & Quality Governance

• Provide independent quality assessments for key projects and releases.
• Support go/no-go decisions through objective insights on quality, risk, test coverage, and business readiness.
• Promote consistent release readiness and quality governance practices across ICT.

Quality Reporting & Management Insights

• Help establish quality reporting standards and management dashboards.
• Provide visibility into quality trends, testing progress, risks, and release readiness.
• Support management and SteerCo decision-making through objective quality metrics and actionable insights.

Test Automation & AI Enablement

• Assess testing maturity and automation opportunities across projects.
• Advise on fit-for-purpose automation solutions and testing tools.
• Evaluate AI-assisted testing capabilities and recommend pragmatic adoption where business value can be demonstrated.

Required knowledge and skills
Education & Experience:

• At least eight years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• Proven experience as a Test Lead, QA Coach, Quality Engineer or Test Manager. (MANDATORY)
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Hands-on experience with functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience in coaching teams by observing and learning from testing activities.
• Experience in introducing testing standards, quality governance, and test reporting across multiple teams.
• Ability to assess quality risks and support release go/no-go decisions.
• Experience in working in complex enterprise environments involving multiple business and ICT stakeholders.

Skills:

• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach with the ability to operate as both advisor and hands-on practitioner.
• Ability to translate project experience into reusable standards, templates, and best practices.
• Ability to build sustainable capabilities and help teams become increasingly self-sufficient.
• Fluent in English and at least a very good level in Dutch. 

Technical Tools Expertise:

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Playwright, Tosca or other test automation platforms is an absolute must.
• Experience creating quality dashboards, test reports, and management scorecards is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Microsoft 365, SAP, ServiceNow, integration platforms, data warehouses, or other enterprise business applications.
• Experience implementing and scaling test automation frameworks.
• Experience assessing automation opportunities and defining automation roadmaps.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted quality engineering solutions.
• Experience supporting large transformation or SDLC improvement initiatives.

Location

We provide the flexibility to work both from our office premises and remotely from home. This to maintain a healthy work-life balance while being an integral part of our team. An onsite presence of 3 days a week is required. It’s not possible to work 100% remote.
